WONUC Radioprotection Statement

Four Agencies of the United Nations are involved in the specific area of the effects of atomic radiation: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO)..

With the support of WHO, UNSCEAR (which should have IAEA as parent organization instead of UNEP) has to be in charge of the drawing up of radioprotection regulations as IAEA is in charge of international endorsement and checking enforcements. Whatever their honorableness, none non-governmental organization may substitute for U.N. responsibilities.
